East Palestine, Ohio: Republican U.S. Senate candidate Matt Dolan today announced the support of East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway, East Palestine Fire Chief Keith Drabick, and Columbiana County Commissioner Tim Weigle.
“This year our entire nation has seen that Columbiana County personifies resilience, hard work, and grit. When the derailment occurred, local leaders and first responders stepped up. They didn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. They worked together to hold intergovernmental leaders, agencies, and private companies alike accountable, and they demanded results. It’s the kind of leadership that makes Ohio and America great, and I’m honored to have their support. In the U.S. Senate I will never stop working to build upon their progress and deliver results for East Palestine, Columbiana County, and our entire state,” said Matt Dolan.
“In the aftermath of unspeakable tragedy, Ohioans came together from many walks of life to lift one another up and begin a recovery process that continues today. Through it all, one leader among many has stood out for his efforts grounded in responsiveness and results. Matt Dolan didn’t come here for headlines, cameras, or social media clicks. He quietly showed up, rolled up his sleeves and asked how he could help. Each day, Matt has stood with East Palestine and as we continue to rebuild, he’s focused on our community’s needs and worked with us to develop a recovery plan that gets results. That’s why I’m proud to stand with Matt Dolan,” said East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway.
“As a first responder, it’s essential that we have public officials that work tirelessly to serve us in the same manner in which we serve the community. What impresses me about Matt Dolan is he cares about results, not who gets the credit. He’s taken the time to come here, visit with our people, understand our challenges, and get to work in a manner that serves others. We need more leaders like Matt Dolan and I’m proud to stand with fellow first responders across Ohio in supporting Matt for U.S. Senate,” East Palestine Fire Chief Keith Drabick said.
“Matt Dolan has put in the effort to find solutions for our needs. From Day 1, Matt has been focused on what makes Columbiana County and Ohio stronger. He has taken a personal interest in the rebuilding and success of our community, and that makes him exactly the kind of proven public servant we need in Washington, D.C. I’m proud to stand with fellow local leaders in supporting Matt Dolan for U.S. Senate,” said Columbiana County Commissioner Tim Weigle.
East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway was elected mayor in 2019. He was recently reelected on November 7th.
Tim Weigle was elected Columbiana Commissioner in 2011. Prior to that, he served as Unity Township Trustee from January 1990 through 2013.
Keith Drabick has served as Chief of East Palestine’s Fire Department for 2 years.
